"Acrobatics High on Horseback"

Vaulting - What is it?

Acrobatics on horseback

Vaulting is a sport consisting of gymnastic and acrobatic exercises on a horse running in a circle.

The beautiful and unique thing about this sport is that it combines many skills at once. So you need coordination, strength and endurance, as well as the appropriate flexibility and team spirit, as well as many other qualities that gymnastics on horseback and in a team require.
In addition, the respectful handling of our animal sports partners is learned, which we attach great importance to. This includes, for example, cleaning and getting ready before training, small stable jobs, as well as tidying up and feeding the horse and cleaning the equipment afterwards. Even the little ones can really get involved and have fun handling the horses.

Vaulting as a competitive sport

Vaulting is often only seen as an introduction for children before riding lessons. But it is much more than that! In our club there is a competitive sports-oriented group that regularly attends tournaments and special courses. Our junior group, which is introduced to the sport in a playful and sporty way, also trains diligently so that they are also successful at tournaments.

Vaulting is possible in different performance classes, which are primarily named with letters. Increasing in level, you can start in the performance classes N, F, E, A, L, M and S as well as Junior and other categories on tournaments.

You can join us from the age of 5, but we are also happy to take older Voltis with us!

Sport partner horse

The most important team member in vaulting is of course the horse. Without you, our sport would not be what it is, namely an equestrian sport. That is why we do everything we can to ensure that our four-legged friends do not lack for anything and that they feel as good as a horse's soul can.
Our 3 horses live in large and bright straw boxes on the Agrarhof in Retschow. Every day they are allowed to romp around, doze or eat to their heart's content in a large pasture.

In our training, we pay particular attention to horse-friendly gymnastics. Even the youngest are taught how to treat these large creatures with respect and that care and stable work are just as much a part of it as having fun doing gymnastics together on and with the horse.

We are very thankful for our three wonderful horses that have been doing a great job for so long!
